1985年TVB有意撮合翁美玲和汤镇业这对情侣，让他俩“戏真情真”，共同出演为明初剧《桥王之王》。该剧在1985年5月期间定妆，戏才刚开拍，阿翁就自杀了。而后该剧中她的角色由张曼玉出演，汤镇业的角色由关礼杰顶替，剧名改为《拆档拍档》。
